Proofreading and editing Japanese translations and client-facing documents such as reports and marketing materials.
Each text is carefully reviewed for typos, inconsistent terminology, mistranslations, omissions, and style guide compliance, as well as overall readability, subject-predicate agreement, and natural Japanese expression, with corrections made as needed.
Formatting checks for Word, PowerPoint, and other Office files are also available, covering font consistency, indentation, margins, and other layout elements.
In addition, I can help develop style guides and proofreading checklists to improve quality and efficiency. With the goal of reducing errors and inconsistencies from the start of the writing or translation process, I create easy-to-follow style guides and comprehensive checklists that help produce high-quality content with less time and effort.

Book Scouting
Providing reading reports and summaries for English books not yet translated into Japanese, with the goal of supporting publication decisions.
While business and self-help books make up the majority of my work, I also cover entertainment fiction and Ireland-related titles. (The latter is purely a personal passion — which means extra enthusiasm.)
For projects in the planning stage, I assess each book from the perspective of its target readership to help inform Go/No-go decisions, covering the following in my report

About
Founder's Profile
Asuka Minami (Translator & Consultant)
Graduated from the Faculty of Letters, Keio University (Major: Library and Information Science).
After working at an IT venture (HR-focused ASP), a law firm, a risk management consulting firm, and several recruitment agencies (covering both permanent placement and freelance staffing), she founded I.D. Partners LLC in 2019, providing operational and project support to client companies.
Since 2022, she has been working as a Japanese-to-English translator, primarily in business-related fields, drawing on her experience at IT ventures, as a business consultant, and as a corporate director at startups. She has self-published a Japanese translation of an Oscar Wilde work and is a member of the Japan Translation Federation (JTF).
In her spare time, she practices Irish dance and is also available for translation work related to Irish culture.
